See the Music

Interesting challenge. Even the title sort makes you think, what the?

However after long deliberations I have come up with these ideas.

This one is meant to be a little abstract. This one is literal while trying to create a mood with the low light and depth of field.

And this one reminds me of a great band.

In Flight

Here are my offerings for this Challenge.

Pelicans are quite common around most Australian ports and harbours but they seem to congregate in quite large numbers in quieter bays up and down the Eastern coast. Just an hour or so north of Sydney, they are quite an attraction especially around feeding time.

By the Numbers

This challenge took a bit of thinking. Here is what I came up with. I guess it is fairly abstract. Hope you enjoy it.

The old place

THE STRAND ARCADE - SYDNEY

When the Strand Arcade opened in 1891 it was the fifth and the last of the arcades built in Victorian Sydney. Today it is the only one remaining in its original form.

Sydney was a Victorian city in 1891. Grandeur and elegance was the style of the day as the city's architects created landmarks that echoed the familiar traditions of hometown London.

In the earlier period the Arcade was referred to as the City Arcade and sometimes known as Arcade Street. In 1981 finally named after the famous London Street that links the city of London and the city of Westminster. The Strand was London's smartest theatre, hotel and shopping street in the early 1900's.

Light Moves (Take 3)

Same concept as the previous post only a little more abstract and a little less literal.

Light Moves (take2)

I hope this does not come across as being too lame. Just having a bit of fun with long exposure and a lighter.

Light Moves

This Challenge can be quite technical. I am hoping to get some time to actually experiment with the topic and see what I can come up with. For now I am going to post a photo I took about a year and a half ago when I got the opportunity to visit the magical city of Paris.

What makes your heart happy?

OK, so I guess this challenge is trickier than the last one as it could be many things to many people. I thought I would start with something fairly obvious and then hopefully come up with something a bit less obvious as the days roll on, I hope to anyway...

CAT NAP

This first image is of my cat Dante. He has been my furry baby for the past 8 years and he certainly makes my heart happy on a regular basis. As usual, hope you like it!

Not of this Season - Entry

Hope I haven't broken any rules here. I have posted 4 entries to this challenge. If I had to limit myself to just one it would have to be this one.

Not of this Season - Summer Fruits

Cactus - Prickly Pear (Opuntia Littoralis) - Fruit

In Sydney we are in the middle of some seriously hot summer days. Temperatures reaching in the low forties (that's Degrees Celcius), especially in Western Sydney where these photographs were taken.

Not of this Season - Lizard Basking in the Sun

I guess this could be another contender for the Not of this Season Challenge. A follower of one of my other blogs who lives in Canada said that they don't get any lizards there. I guess that makes sense, lizards being cold blooded and all. So I am also guessing that in certain areas where winters are pretty harsh, unlike here in Sydney, there will not be too many lizards around at this time of year.

Not of this Season - Fun in the surf

This picture is from my archive and it will have to do unless I find sdomething that does summer in Australia better justice. These young surfers were enjoying themselves at the edge of this saltwater pool. The sea is always pretty rough in this spot but they were making the most of it.
